Motorola took to CES 2026 with previews of some big announcements including its first book-style foldable, but also tagging along for the ride is a new Moto Watch that just cant help but bring up memories of the Moto 360 that Motorola seemingly refuses to give a second chance.

The new Moto Watch is a circular smartwatch that Motorola touts 13 days of battery life from (or 7 days with always-on display). So, as youd expect, it doesnt run Wear OS. Rather, this is another Motorola smartwatch using a bare bones OS with no third-party apps, but it does kind of look like Wear OS. The navigation is pretty similar, with tiles to the left and right of the watch face, quick settings on top, and notifications to the bottom. Even the app drawer looks pretty similar to the one Wear OS added a while back.

Its pretty frustrating, to be blunt, to see Motorola clearly looking at the experience of Wear OS and building something similar instead of just giving the Moto 360 another shot. The decade-old smartwatch is the one that caught everyones attention back in the day, yet it hasnt returned for the modern era of Wear OS. There was a short-lived reboot in 2020, but thats long since dead.

Moto Watch does have some solid hardware with a 47mm stainless steel chassis, support for 22mm watch bands including several first-party bands that felt quite nice in our brief hands-on time IP68/1ATM water resistance, and that long battery life as mentioned. In the health department, Motorola has partnered with Polar for deep health insights and wellness tracking solutions.

Moto Watch will be available on January 22 in the US, though a price point hasnt been announced.
